Lions 10  -  Royal Navy  22

26th Feb 02

The Lions drafted in 8 Colts for this game. For the first half hour it was all Lions, they camped in the RN 22, but were unable to cross the line, their only reward was a Glen Bond penalty (3-0). On 32 minutes the Navy wheeled a scrum on half way and broke away to score in what was their first trip into Lions territory.(3 - 5). A penalty made it (3 - 8) on half time.

The second half the Navy upped the tempo against a tiring Lions side, but too their credit the tackles kept coming. Two further Navy tries made the score (3-22). But the final say was with the Lions in form of a fine try from Colt David Clements, converted by Glen Bond.(10 - 22).

Nice to see the clubs youth have a run out. They certainly show alot of sprit and a good deal of skill. For me the pick was Daniel Facer at No8
