Lions U9’s 3- 5 Lutterworth The first half saw the young lions fail to cope with the bigger and stronger Lutterworth side. However, a great try by Ben Cooper gave the team a lift just before half time, and although trailing 4-1, the fight back had begun. The second half saw the forwards stop Lutterworth in their tracks and the backs defending well, moving the ball wide and attacking hard. With tries from Marcus Tarrant and Solomon Cave the lions won the second half 2-1.
Lions U9’s 2- 1 Market Harborough A fantastic game with both teams defending well. The forwards determination to win the ball edged the game for the Lions. The backs continued to attack in numbers and move the ball well resulting in tries for Liam Green and Sam Spark. A very good win in a hard fought game.
Barkers Butts 53 vs. Rugby Lions 0
Despite the call for all available players to make the effort to play in this match only 15 players made it to Coventry. Against a physically bigger Butts team who are unbeaten all season and had over 25 players to choose from it was never going to be an easy task.
A fantastic first half effort kept the home side to just 15 points ahead but when the Lions lost 2 players at half time a difficult job became impossible.
Special mention goes to Sam who travelled to the match knowing he could only play the first half and Kaedan who played the whole match with a broken bone in his foot and deservedly won MOM, now that’s team commitment from both.
Everyone who made the effort to play should be proud that they were prepared to stand up and be counted.
