Rugby Lions Under 14s vs Loughborough

28.02.10

The Under14s took on a strong Loughborough side away from home in very testing conditions last Sunday.

The game was a very close affair with both sides eager to get first blood. After a fairly evenly matched 20 minute period of play, the Rugby forwards found themselves with a scrummage on the Loughborough 22. When the ball popped out of the scrum, Jack Baird spotted an opportunity to go down the blind side and off loaded to Ashley Moore who went for the line like an exocet missile and crashed over to put the Lions 5-0 up.

In the second half, Loughborough were quick to close the gap and ran in a try in the corner which was subsequently converted to put the home side back in the driving seat.

Just before the final whistle the lads put the Loughborough defence under extreme pressure again and were rewarded when Kieran Wardle received the ball and went over to take the final score back to 10-7 to Rugby.
