Syston U13's - 20    vs.    Rugby Lions U13's - 17

Lions travelled to Syston for Sundays game where the game started off with good commitment and energy levels from both teams. Lions were the first to score after some great forward work released the ball to the dangerous backs with Swifty scoring out wide, Aaron was successful with the conversation.

The Lions then seemed to fall asleep and forgot the basics of tackling and their defensive duties allowing the home side to score 3 well taken tries. The replacements came on and this seemed to galvanise the Lions who hit back with 2 good tries of their own; first a massive forward drive gave "man mountain" Jack Worrell Soper the chance to score his first try of the season, followed by another for the strong running Swifty out wide, Aaron was unlucky with both of the conversions.

A tight game which was within the teams capabilities to win and a truer reflection of where they currently are.

Rugby Lions Under 14s vs Banbury

The Under 14s had a bruising encounter with Banbury last Sunday and went down

24-0 away from home.

The team were without 4 of their regular players owing to injuries but that didn’t stop the lads from putting in a brave performance. Paddy Forde had a good game at centre and put in some hard tackles to thwart several breaks from the Banbury backs. The forwards scrummaged well and Ollie Jones was able to get his backs running on several occasions although the Banbury defence was just too strong to break down.

Despite the loss the lads took a great deal from the encounter and will no doubt put into practice what they learned at their next game against Barker’s Butts in early December.

Rugby Lions Under 15’s - 85 points          v              Broad Street Under 15’s - 0 points

Lions put in a turbocharged performance to score 13 unanswered tries in good running conditions and took the opportunity to use all of their rehearsed moves to great effect.  Every squad member looked to be on top form as they completely outplayed an unfortunate Broad Street side that nevertheless competed bravely right up to the end.  Prompted by Tom Swindell and Rich Bannister in the first half and Ben Hyslop and Lewis Dodds in the second, tries came at regular intervals from Jonny Ure (3), Will Tuite-Dalton, James Scott and Jackson Hughes (all 2 each) and Zac Baldwin, Harry Parsons, Alex Kukielko and Tom Swindell.  Harry Parsons and Lewis Dodds kicked 5 conversions each and Robert Chan was deservedly voted ‘man of the match’ under pressure from Mitch Wells, Will Tuite-Dalton and Fraser O’Brien but in all honesty, after such a great team performance everybody deserved an award.
